Resumo:

Objetivos: verificar a influência na avaliação do processamento auditivo de diferentes graus e configuração de perda auditiva em idosos. Método: foram avaliados 30 idosos de 60 a 90 anos, sendo 17 (56,67%) do gênero feminino e 13 (43,33%) do gênero masculino. As avaliações realizadas incluíram meatoscopia, audiometria tonal liminar e aplicação do teste SSW em português. Resultados: a análise dos dados permitiu verificar que, neste grupo de indivíduos, o grau de perda auditiva influenciou significantemente nos escores obtidos na avaliação do processamento auditivo, diferentemente da configuração de perda auditiva. Os idosos que apresentaram perda auditiva de grau leve com configuração horizontal obtiveram escores significantemente superiores na avaliação do processamento auditivo comparados com os portadores de perda auditiva de grau moderado com configuração horizontal ou grau moderado com configuração descendente. Conclusão: concluiu-se que o grau de perda auditiva influencia nos resultados da avaliação do processamento auditivo. A configuração de perda auditiva não foi fator determinante nos resultados da avaliação do processamento auditivo.

Abstract:

OBJECTIVES: to verify the influence in the evaluation of the auditory processing of different degrees and configuration of hearing loss in aged. METHOD: 90 years, being 17 (56.67%) of feminine sort and 13 (43.33%) of the masculine sort had been evaluated 30 aged ones of 60. The carried through evaluations had included meatoscopy, preliminary tonal audiometry and application of test SSW in Portuguese. RESULTS: the analysis of the data allowed verifying that, in this group of individuals, the degree of hearing loss influenced significantly in the scores gotten in the evaluation of the auditory processing, differently of the configuration of hearing loss. Aged that they had presented the hearing loss of light degree with horizontal configuration had gotten significantly scores superior in the evaluation of the auditory processing compared with the carriers of hearing loss of moderate degree with horizontal configuration or moderate degree with descending configuration. CONCLUSION: one concluded that the degree of hearing loss influences in the results of the evaluation of the auditory processing. The configuration of hearing loss was not determinative factor in the results of the evaluation of the auditory processing.
